Wery Wery Windy

Just like we expected, we had fun for 2 hours this morning but then we called it quits for most of the day. Windguru in Hatteras (link) predicted an acceptable, not too strong morning, and a pickup in the afternoon. It was dead on. We left the beach and the winds were going at 29 knots or so, with gusts up to 33. Later in the afternoon, we saw gusts close to 40 knots, just too much for us. I got a few stills from the morning session. The third picture was taken at 4pm with an average wind of 33 knots. Don't know who's riding that kite, but he's really flying.

So, I spent the day fixing up a classical guitar that my Dear Vivie gave me (an old guitar that she had from God knows where). Someone unfortunately cranked up this classical guitar with steel strings. Never do that, the neck is not built for that amount of tension, but fortunately in this case, the neck still seems fine. The only problem now is with the headstock keys, one of the keys is ok, the five others each have a problem, so much so that the guitar doesn't stay in tune very long. The new strings do give it a fresh look however and we can still play a song or 2 before having to re-tune it. See how it looks now!!!

Tomorrow looks the same as today, so we might end up doing the same thing as today as far as kiting goes. The rest of the week looks awesome.

Talk to you again soon!
